Parenting Plan

Collaborative Law and Collaborative Divorce in St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa, Sarasota, Pinellas County, and surrounding West Florida areas.

During the collaborative process, the neutral mental health professional will assist the parties in developing a parenting plan if there are minor children involved. A parenting plan is a document that states essential information for successful co-parenting, such as a timesharing schedule, transportation, vacations, and communication with the minor children. While this may seem like a simple task to accomplish, many parents cannot initially agree on a parenting plan and require the assistance of other professionals. The collaborative process has the inherent benefit of having a qualified neutral mental health professional on the collaborative team who to facilitate the development of a parenting plan that is in the best interest of the children when disputes arise. Even after the collaborative process has successfully concluded, the neutral mental health professional often stays involved with the parents in order to assist in resolving future disputes, which eliminates the need to resort to expensive and lengthy court proceedings in the future.
